Huntington's Disease
Huntington's Disease is a hereditary illness characterized by progressive movement disorders and intellectual and psychiatric deterioration. This disease usually strikes individuals beginning in middle age.
There has been found to be a relationship between Schizophrenia and Huntington's Disease suggesting that Huntington's is simply Schizophrenia with additional neurological components.
Through Ortho Molecular Science, Huntington's is believed to be a disease that is dependant on both vitamin B3 and vitamin E. It has been suggested that vitamin B3 controls the mental portion of this disease while vitamin E controls the neurological components.
It is estimated that there is a 50% chance that if one suffers from Huntington's Disease, it will be passed down to your children.
Treatment of this disease through Ortho Molecular therapy has been successful although more research and case studies are required for this illness.
Program
Ortho Molecular science has found that large doses of specific vitamins has proven effective in treating and controlling the symptoms of this disease.
Response to treatment may take several months and is dependant on the severity of the symptoms and the length of illness.
When treating Huntington's disease, your Ortho Molecular therapist may suggest that your diet be free of all additives including sugar.
Your dietary history will be examined for evidence of foods that may cause allergic reactions. If evidence exists of allergies, your Ortho Molecular therapist may place you on the elimination diet to determine specifically which foods must be eliminated. Elimination diet
- Remove foods to which one is allergic or which are toxic for a minimum of two weeks.
- Monitor symptoms to see if there is improvement.
- Reintroduce each food one at a time to determine which foods are causing an adverse reaction. If health deteriorates with the introduction of a specific food then it is toxic to your body and should be avoided, often for life.
