The Ortho Molecular Answer

Weight Loss

Obesity is common in North America and is a direct consequence of B complex vitamin starvation from modern diets. The body tries to remedy this by eating more fat, carbohydrates and sugars.

It is suspected that lack of nutrients may increase activity in or turn on the genes that control the feeling of hunger in obese individuals.

Therapy for obesity focuses on increasing the intake of the B vitamins and combining this with reduced food consumption.  The result should be significant weight loss.

Changing detrimental habits is also an important part of the Ortho Molecular approach to obesity therapy.

Program

Your Ortho Molecular therapist will likely place you on what is called the stone age diet.  This diet consists of whole foods that have not been processed.  This will minimize toxins, sugars and substances that can affect health.  The meals will be balanced and will promote energy and overall health.  Clients must be regimented and ensure that they are consuming three proper meals per day.

Therapy

This must be customized by an Ortho Molecular therapist.

B Complex 50s or 100s - once daily

Vitamin C - 500 to 1,000 mg three times daily

Vitamin D - 2,000 IU to 4,000 IU daily

Zinc Citrate - 50 mg daily

Vitamin B6 - 250 to 750 mg daily

Vitamin B3 - Niacinamide for anxiety, Niacin for depression

Chromium

Calcium/Magnesium preparation

If weight does not improve with the above vitamin therapy, an Ortho Molecular therapist will likely suggest additional vitamins to ensure that the body is receiving sufficient nutrients.

The overall focus of obesity treatment is to reduce weight and improve total health.
