The Ortho Molecular Answer

Arthritis

There are two main types of Arthritis, the first are reactions to food, and the second are a form of sub clinical pellagra.

Treatment for the two forms of arthritis may differ dramatically although this is not always the case. One form of treatment focuses on nutrition based therapy whereas many cases may be treated with vitamins. Ultimately the therapy is customized to the individual client depending on their overall health requirements.

Arthritis Type 1 - Reactions to Foods

  • If it is suspected that food is the cause for your arthritis, your Ortho Molecular therapist will take a detailed history of your food consumption.
  • It is typically the staple foods in one's diet that tend to be the most detrimental and cause the greatest reaction in the body. This means that almost daily you may be consuming the foods that cause the symptoms of arthritis.
  • Solanine plants are usually suspected as the leading cultprets in causing arthritic inflammation. These plants include potatoes, peppers, tobacco, tomatoes and eggplant.

Arthritis Type 2 - Vitamin Deficiency

  • This type of Arthritis responds well to vitamin treatments using B3 and B6.

Program

An Ortho Molecular therapist must determine the cause of arthritis and develop a customized program.

If the cause is suspected to be reactions to food, an Ortho Molecular therapist may likely determine the source by taking a detailed food history and placing the client on the elimination diet:

Elimination diet

  • Remove foods to which one is allergic or which are toxic for a minimum of two weeks.
  • Monitor symptoms to see if there is improvement.
  • Reintroduce each food one at a time to determine which foods are causing an adverse reaction. If health deteriorates with the introduction of a specific food then it is toxic to your body and should be avoided, often for life.

Common Suspects

  • Potatos
  • Peppers
  • Tobacco
  • Tomatos
  • Eggplant

If vitamin deficiency is suspected then vitamin therapy will be customized depending on your individual vitamin deficits.
